Abstract
Achievement of true brain stem signals is the basic condition for a good BERA recording. Only signals without artifacts can be sufficiently enhanced and computer processed. In our study, the patients who were not sufficiently relaxed had prolonged wave V latency and flat waves. Prolonged latency was ascertained in 22 cases (35.5%) from 62 BERA tests. There was no significant difference as regards the hearing thresholds, sex or age.
