Cochlear Frequency Selectivity and Brainstem Evoked Response (BER) Dependence on Click Polarity

  • Chapter
Auditory Pathway

Abstract

The Brainstem Evoked Response (BER) is widely used in the study of peripheral auditory functioning, and has particular applications in audiology. Usually a wideband click is used as a stimulus. The response consists of a number of waves, the vertex positive peaks usually being indicated with Roman numerals I to V (VI, VII) according to the Jewett convention.
