Evaluation of Reflection Spectra of the Isolated Heart by Multicomponent Spectra Analysis in Comparison to other Evaluating Methods

  • Chapter
Oxygen Transport to Tissue-V

Part of the book series: Advances in Experimental Medicine and Biology ((AEMB,volume 169))

Abstract

Satisfactory quantification of reflection spectra has been a challenging problem for several decades (Kortüm, 1969). Reflected light from organ surfaces gives an indication of the biochemical properties of the underlying living tissue without destruction or even affecting sensitive structures.
