Abstract
The energy metabolism of muscle tissue during exercise has been extensively studied, yet there is no unambiguous candidate as being the limiting factor for the exercise performance (c.f. di Prampero, 1981). One possible factor of importance in this respect is the oxygen supply to the muscle tissue.
