Abstract
During routine examinations, the health professional is likely to encounter patients who complain of cold hands. Very few patients, however, exhibit the severe vasospastic episodes characteristic of Raynaud’s diathesis. Nevertheless, some Raynaud’s patients remain unaware of the unusual nature of their symptoms until severe organic changes become apparent. Health professionals, capable of differentially diagnosing Raynaud’s diathesis during its early stages, may be able to stabilize or abolish these early symptoms using traditional medicine and biobehavioral techniques such as biofeedback.
