Abstract

Peptide neuropharmacology has shown spectacular advances during the past decade. It appears that we may be on the threshold of witnessing more tangible benefits in the form of therapeutic progress and in the form of a better understanding of the pathophysiological aspects of many disorders, not only in the fields of neurology and psychiatry, but probably also in the field of endocrinology and internal medicine. In the present chapter, we shall briefly review certain areas of peptide research that seem to hold future promise.
