Abstract

This paper reviews the conceptsused in describing the functions performed by printing and display devices, some of their most important operational parameters, and the technology of some of the most important displays and printers. Its purpose is to place current technology in proper perspective in order to appreciate the capabilities and limitations of the devices available.
