Abstract

Deep inelastic phenomena are reviewed and a few typical historical experiments are described to show the continuity in this field. Scaling, scaling violation, and new recent measurements are described. Experimental difficulties are pointed out and care is taken to show how to compare the data with theoretical prediction. A comparison of Drell-Yan pair production with 1p deep inelastic scattering is made.
