Abstract

PETRA1,2 is a e+eāˆ’ storage ring located in Hamburg, Germany. It has a circumference of 2.3 km (see Table 1 and Figure 1). The bending radius of 256 m, and it has 8 straight sections. Four of the straight sections are already occupied by detectors; two others, the north and the south, are used for rf halls; the remaining two will be used for future experiments. The injection energy is 6.5 GeV, and the maximum design energy is 19 GeV per beam.
