NOx Emission Control by a Staged Fluidized Bed Combustor of Coal

  • Chapter
Fluidization

Abstract

Reduction of nitric oxide by char in the presence of oxygen was investigated by the use of a fluidized bed (600–853°C). The reaction proceeded even under an excess air condition. The rate was increased at 600°C and 750°C. The result implied that a proposed concept of staged fluidized bed had potential possibilities for the reduction of “NO” emission.
