Abstract
The present state of the technique of recording nuclear particles is characterized by the extensive use of scintillation counters. The distinguishing features of these are their high sensitivity and low inertia, which enables individual light quanta emitted in the scintillator to be recorded over a short period of time. In this article we shall consider questions relating to the use of scintillation and Cerenkov counters for studying nuclear events by the coincidence method. Other characteristics of the counters such as their energy resolution will not be discussed.
