Pathogenesis of the Syndrome of Oligophrenia with Gross Disturbance of the Cortical Neurodynamics
It is a characteristic feature of all oligophrenic children with gross disturbance of the cortical neurodynamics (Chapters 3, 4, 5, and 6) that maldevelopment of the complex forms of cognitive function takes place in these children against a background of considerable disturbances of the equilibrium of the fundamental nervous processes. This supplementary pathophysiological mechanism also forms the basis for the characteristic clinical picture of this form of oligophrenia.
