Abstract

The insulin-like growth factors I and II (IGF-I, IGF-II) are polypeptides with significant structural homology to insulin.1 Together with insulin and relaxin, a polypeptide involved in the preparation of reproductive tissues for birth, they comprise a family of evolu-tionarily related substances referred to as the insulin family of peptides.
