Ascending in the spinal cord to higher centers in the nervous system, are two particularly important pathways:

  1. I.

    SPINO THALAMIC SYSTEM - pain, thermal sensation and crude touch.

  2. II.

    POSTERIOR COLUMN SYSTEM - vibratory sense, two point discrimination, joint position sense and discriminatory touch.
