Abstract
A nonempty subset U of a vector space V is called a linear subspace of V iff the following two conditions are satisfied:

if A ∈ U and B ∈ U then A + B ∈ U
-
(2)
if A ∈ V and r ∈ ℝ then rA ∈ V.
