Abstract
So far we have dealt with the motion of particles with a total energy E = Ekin + V that is positive at least in region I, the region of the incoming particle. Of course, classical motion inside a finite region where the potential is negative is also possible for negative total energies, as long as kinetic energy Ekin = E - V is positive. We now study this system from the point of view of quantum mechanics.
