Abstract
It is time now to step back from the highly detailed investigation of empathy (as illustrated in Chapters 9 and 10) and to take a broader view. What are the main ideas that have emerged from this entire book? What conclusions can be drawn? What are the implications for research and practice? These are the questions that are addressed in this last chapter.
