Abstract

Development of secondary hyperparathyroidism in chronic renal insufficiency is becoming an increasing problem in dialysis patients with prolongation of survival time.(1) Knowledge of the pathophysiological interrelationships and the attempt to correct these with dialysis treatment have not led to lasting therapeutic success so far.
