Abstract
The potential apo E-receptor has become a special topic in the lipoprotein field. A receptor protein had been described, but it turned out to be much more complicated than expected. In this paper I will give you some evidence that an apo E receptor should exist and tell you about the history of the putative E-receptor. Last not least I will report on our current knowledge concerning apo E binding proteins.
