A Significant Role of Plasma Kallikrein-Kinin System in Plasma Exudation of Rat Carrageenin-Induced Pleurisy

Abstract

Bradykinin is well known to be a very potent endogenous proinflammatory peptide, having pharmacological actions of vasodilatation, increased vascular permeability, and pain production. Thus, the involvement of plasma kinins in inflammatory response has been suggested. Conclusive evidence, however, has been hardly provided, because of difficulty in detection of free kinins in inflammatory sites.
