Abstract
The present lecture is an attempt to show modern concepts related to the physiological mechanisms of the regulation of cerebral circulation. Progress in this important physiological field proceeded rather specifically. Owing to their extreme significance for medical practice, the cerebral blood flow problems became subjects of numerous applied studies in animals and humans, while comparatively few fundamental investigations related to the physiological mechanisms of cerebral blood flow regulation were being carried out. The lack of deep physiological insight into the structural and functional aspects of the regulation could only have hampered the actual progress in this important field.
