Control and Interrelation of Aggregation and Secretion; the Roles of Ca2+, Diacylglycerol and Thromboxane with Particular Reference to ADP Stimulation

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: Advances in Experimental Medicine and Biology ((AEMB,volume 192))

Abstract

In this article we propose to outline our present understanding of the intracellular pathways regulating aggregation and secretion in human platelets, and the various ways in which secretion and aggregation may be independent or interdependent under different experimental conditions. We shall also consider briefly shape-change and its relation to aggregation and secretion.
