Abstract

For over twenty five years nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) has been used as a probe of the microstructure of glasses. More recently NMR has begun to be used as a probe of the dynamical processes in glass. This paper summarizes some of the basic and more recent applications of NMR to the understanding of glasses. After a brief review of the relevant NMR theory, several studies which demonstrate various applications of NMR to glass science will be discussed.
