Abstract

A software system for digital processing of astronomical plates, specially devoted to the study of clusters of galaxies, is briefly described. In this processing, typical problems are the large amount of pixels per image and the large number of high magnitude objects to measure for each plate. These problems along with the architecture of a system able to cope with them are described as well as the system functions to process, display and archive image data.
