Abstract

Knowledge about ascaridoid nematodes of reptiles has gradually accumulated since the 18th century. No species in reptiles were listed by Linnaeus (1758) or Goeze (1782), but Rudolphi (1819) listed 17 species. The first work in which the reptilian species were listed together was that of Dujardin (1845).
