Abstract
There is little doubt that successful writing possesses an inherent logic all its own. Our certainty on this point regarding logical, mature writing style reflects our definitions of clear writing, often designed to encourage the novice rhetorician or the teacher of rhetoric. Such definitions, of course, have a centuries-old tradition.
