Abstract
A progestogen releasing intracervical contraceptive device (I.C.D.) has been developed, designed to release 20–25 mcg of norgestrel per day. This study was designed to ascertain whether the device had any adverse effect on uterine histology or bacteriology, and to study the effect on cervical mucus of this rate of local progestogen release.
