Abstract
Dr. Gerritsen, I’d like to underline data which can be derived from your measurements. Based on both the level of circulating insulin and the insulin content you found in the pancreas at the end of the experiments, in fasting animals the turnover of pancreatic insulin is more than 10 times higher than in animals who had a restricted access to food. I think this is very important to take into consideration, because it is a measurement which is usually not available in human patients.
