Abstract
One of the most interesting aspects of lysosomal glycolipid hydrolases is the specificity (or lack thereof) of their interactions with artificial substrate analogs and glycosphingolipid substrates. This is of particular importance with respect to multiple forms of these glycosidases, which may arise as artifacts from partial degradation during purification or may be due to chemical differences such as subunit composition or microheterogeneity of the carbohydrate moieties.
