Abstract
The concept of the circulating T and B lymphocytes has raised a new interest in the relationship between the structural and mobile element of the lymphoid organs. This paper is concerned with the functional anatomy of lymphocyte circulation in the spleens of mice and rats, and it collates evidence from experiments reported elsewhere (1–3) in favour of a proposed unidirectional flow of lymphocytes through anatomically controlled pathways in functionally discrete units of the spleen.
