Abstract
The Working Group on Land Applications (WGLA) focussed on the significance and possible benefits of an international operational earth observation system based mainly on remote sensing satellites such as LANDSAT. Data from such a system would be available in all parts of the world for global, regional or national purposes. Such a system should be at least as efficient as existing conventional systems.
