Abstract
Neither cancer nor cancer research are respectful of national boundaries, but the way research is financed and organised does vary a good deal between different countries. So I will spend a few minutes on the way cancer research is organised in Britain compared with other countries, particularly the U.S.A., where the enormous cancer programme sets an entirely new level, which sheds a light on the efforts of other countries.
