Neutral Proteinases and Inhibitors of Leucocytes

  • Chapter
Intracellular Protein Catabolism II

Abstract

Neutral tissue and cell proteinases have been rather poorly investigated in comparison to acid proteinases. The reason is that it was difficult to obtain stable active samples. A higher neutral proteinase activity from leucocyte cells was obtained from granule extracts (1–4), or from so called reextracts, where the first extract that contains cytoplasm was discarded (5,6), and in the case of very acid extraction of leucocyte cell homogenate (7).
