Channel Correlation Effects for Fragmented Analog States

Abstract

In this paper we present results from several different experiments illustrating the variety of channel correlation phenomena which occur in proton, neutron, and gamma decay of fragmented analog states. Fragmented analog states provide a set of fine structure resonances whose character is at least partially understood, and for which correlations are expected between partial widths of various decay channels.1 In simplest terms, correlations are expected between those channels which are enhanced by the analog state.
