Abstract

Polypharmacy refers to the practice of prescribing two or more psychoactive medications to one patient for the purpose of reducing or controlling psychiatric symptoms. As a treatment modality, polypharmacy developed and continues largely without the support of adequate research data. This study evaluates some effects of polypharmacy on the symptom of hallucinations in a sample of female chronic schizophrenic patients.
