Abstract

It is well known that water adsorbed on solid surfaces exhibits peculiar proporties (1–4). The investigation of the molecular interactions characterizing these systems assumes a considerable interest in colloidal, catalytic and biological fields. Silica and silicates are the most used porous supports for water adsorption studies (1,2).
