Abstract
Phosphamidon, a systemic insecticide, is widely used for the control of phytophagous insects and mites on a great variety of cultivated plants. In consequence, many food crops have been analysed during the past ten years for residues of phosphamidon and its major metabolites. The aim of the present chapter is to summarize these data and to present a fairly comprehensive picture of the rates of degradation in various crops, and of phosphamidon residues present in them at the time of harvest. For a more complete understanding of the residue situation the reader is referred to the chapters on the toxicology, behavior, and metabolism of phosphamidon in plants and animals.
