Abstract

Dimecron is the trade mark of CIBA Ltd. for formulations containing the active ingredient phosphamidon. The concentration of the formulations is always defined as the total active ingredient content, i. e., α- and β-phosphamidon plus γ-chlorophosphamidon and dechlorophosphamidon (see Chapter I). In all liquid formulations, the active ingredient content is given in percent weight per volume; in the solid formulations it is given in percent weight per weight. As phosphamidon is water soluble and its liquid formulations are miscible with water, they are simply called Dimecron 20, 50, etc., without indication of the type of formulation.
