Abstract
Pesticide residue tolerances established by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration apply to the raw agricultural commodity. Canned or frozen food products are not specifically mentioned in the detailed regulations listing the tolerances. The law simply provides that no action will be taken against a processed food if the residues are within tolerance and if the pesticide compounds have been removed to the extent possible in good manufacturing practice.
