Abstract
As discussed in Section 2.3, we have adopted a production system as the software architecture of the system for the structural analysis of aerial photographs. Consequently, the system becomes highly modular, and we can easily implement the diverse knowledge required to describe the situation on the ground surface. Moreover, the efficiency and reliability of object recognition are greatly increased by the heterarchical control structure of the system.
