Abstract

There is a need in crystallography for displaying 3-D structures directly from crystallographic data(struc ture-factor amplitudes with determined phases,e,g.as obtained with the aid of computerized diffractometers) without(or prior to) manual model building[1–7](*).This is.required notably for large molecules in X-ray crystallography and should be helpful also in electron microscopy of viruses and other biological structures[8–9].
