Abstract
In the present paper we report on observations of nonlinear light scattering on spatial-temporal fluctuations of the medium permittivity that occur due to local heating of the medium around impurity molecules resonantly absorbing the incident radiation and transmitting the absorbed energy into the medium. In its physical content, the observed scattering differs qualitatively from both the nonlinear scattering on small particles1 and the scattering due to the thermal gratings produced by interference of light beams.2 Experimental results of observation of selective reaction on the surface of exposed photomaterials irradiated with a high-power IR laser are presented.
