Perinatal and Posttraumatic Seizures

  • Chapter
Head Injuries in the Newborn and Infant

Part of the book series: Principles of Pediatric Neurosurgery ((PRINCPEDIATR))

Abstract

This chapter discusses traumatic perinatal seizures and crises following traumatic injuries during infancy. Because these are two completely different phenomena, they need to be analyzed separately. The newborn is not a small adult, not even a small child; newborn behave differently under both normal and pathological conditions.
