Abstract
The paper deals with a new approach and the consequent technique to perform the analysis of a GPS network where undifferenced beat phase observation equations are considered. From the results of the analysis an original method to construct an ideal dispersion matrix is proposed. Such a matrix is constructed only for those estimable functions of the receivers’ coordinates for which omogeneous and isotropic dispersion values contained within a centimetric range can realistically be requested. The solution equation of a Second Order Design problem that fulfills the ideal dispersion matrix, just constructed, is finally given.
