Abstract

The decreasing availability of hydrocarbon feedstocks demands that they be utilized at maximum efficiency. Many current industrial processes involving hydrocarbons are carried out using heterogeneous catalysis. Replacement of these processes by ones utilizing homogeneous catalysis offers the potential of yielding both less energy-intensive and more selective processes.
