  • Chapter
Drugs Affecting Lipid Metabolism

Part of the book series: Advances in Experimental Medicine and Biology ((AEMB,volume 4))

Abstract

The finding that free fatty acids (FFA) deriving from adipose tissue may represent an important substrate for the synthesis of liver triglycerides (Steinberg, 1963), has suggested the possibility of controlling triglyceride metabolism by affecting the release of FFA from adipose tissue.
