Syntheses and Properties of Some Polymers Related to Biological Functions: Metal Transport and Template-Directed Oligonucleotide Synthesis

  • Chapter
Book cover Contemporary Topics in Polymer Science

Abstract

In order to imitate and apply a biological function in durable synthetic polymers, lactone-containing polymers and polynucleotide analogs were synthesized. Both, active and selective transports of alkali metal ions through the lactone-containing polymer membranes and template-directed oligonucleotide syntheses using the polynucleotide analog were exhibited, respectively.
