Abstract

A 72-year-old black man was seen because of persistent left-sided headache and diplopia. He had been well until two months previously, when he noted the gradual onset of left frontal steady headache. At approximately the same time, intermittent double vision began, and family members noted drooping of his left eyelid. There was also a poorly localized discomfort in the entire chest, with radiation to the back. The chest discomfort was not related to exertion, and on several occasions had awakened the patient from a sound sleep.
