Abstract

A 34-year-old white male accountant presents to the Emergency Room with a 21/2 hour history of severe retrosternal chest pain. One day prior to admission he noted a transient substernal oppressive sensation that spontaneously abated with rest. Risk factors for coronary artery disease include a positive family history, cigarette tobacco consumption and questionable lipid status.
