Abstract
Impurities immersed in bulk liquid4 He yield important information on the response and the induced intrinsic spatial structure of the perturbed medium.1 2 The dynamical properties of the impurity-helium system are attracting experimental attention, notably through studies of the fate of H, D and T atoms during and after the recombination process at the helium surface.3 In particular, one is interested in knowing if atoms of hydrogen or one of its isotopes is clustered together with itself, and if hydrogen is bound to the helium surface or dissolves into bulk liquid helium.
